Crew Chief

Olympia Moving & Storage is an established (1993), stable, privately owned, growing household goods and office & industrial moving and storage company headquartered in the greater Boston area with an additional service center in Alexandria, Virginia. Scope:
Manages workers in loading and unloading of goods, material, and equipment in supporting of residential (household goods) or commercial divisions for Olympia Moving & Storage.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage on-site crewmembers to ensure efficient and effective service & delivery to clients and homeowners.
  • Acts as liaison with customer service reps and dispatch staff to meet our professional obligation for a satisfied customer.
  • Actively participates in moving materials, equipment, furniture, household goods, and managing of packing & crating of valuables and hard-to-move items when required.
  • Responsible for maintaining clean, safe, operating condition of assigned crewmembers and equipment.
  • Adheres to all safety, OSHA, and DOT regulations in accordance with the Company’s Safety Program and initiatives.
  • Adherence to drug & alcohol-free workplace initiatives.
  • Maintains tool kit for the installation, assembly and breakdown of furniture, cubicles, or other items for transport.
  • Responsible for accurate and complete transactions on all paperwork; securing signatures, collection of payment, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Submit paperwork to Dispatchers to validate crew man-hours and report any incidents.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a crew leader or supervisor along with prior moving & storage or furniture delivery experience is required
  • Active Non-CDL or CDL License
  • Capable of lifting 50+ lbs on a regular basis with above average stamina and fitness skills
  • Enjoys dealing with customers and must have strong communication skills
